Trumpeter – 00105 – 1/144 USMC Amphibious Armor AAV7A1
AAVP-7 or AAV-7 (eng. AND mphibious Assault Vehicle) a modern American APC. The first prototypes of the vehicle were made in the early 1970s, serial production began in 1972. The car is powered by a motor Detroit Diesel Engine 8V-53T or Cummins VTA-525 each p power 400 HP . The vehicle was equipped with an automatic grenade launcher Mk. 19, 40 mm caliber and a 12.7 mm M2HB machine gun.
Vehicles The AAVP-7 was designed to replace the less successful LVTP-5 vehicles in the United States Marine Corps. In the new cars, emphasis was placed on faster movement in the water, greater mobility on land (especially higher top speeds) and much better mechanical reliability. Three main versions of this vehicle were built in series production. The first is the AAVP-7A1, a floating armoured personnel carrier capable of carrying up to 25 landing troops. The expensive version is the AAVC-7A1, that is, the commander’s version with richer radio and communication equipment. Finally, the third variant is the AAVR-7A1, a technical safety vehicle. AAVP-7 vehicles were exported to many countries, including Argentina, Brazil, Chile and Spain. They have also been involved in some armed conflicts, such as the Falklands War in 1982, the Gulf War (1990 – 1991) or the 2003 operations in Iraq.
