Shipping and Returns

Shipping

Orders will be shipped as soon as possible during work days. Usually within 1-3 days once payment has been confirmed.

Fire Fly Hobbies do not use the Post Office for any kind of shipping. Please when you enter your address, make sure that you enter your delivery address and billing address correctly

All items are sent via our Courier/s, and shipping cost will vary either by weight, or by volumetric weight determined by the courier company.

Larger or heavier items like kits etc. are only shipped economy. The majority of parts etc. are shipped overnight.

If you prefer another shipping option, such as PostNet, you are welcome to contact us. We will gladly arrange that for you.

Orders will be shipped as soon as we receive proof of payment. Orders placed over a weekend or on a public holiday will be processed the following working day.

We will do our upmost to package your products as safe and secure as possible. Once collected by the courier we can not take responsibility for your parcel. That means once the parcel has been collected Fire Fly Hobbies shall not be liable for any loss, damage or deterioration of any goods and as such we emphasize that it is the sole responsibility of the customer to request Insurance cover.

Courier Guy and Postnet to Postnet shipping has no Insurance cover unless requested and paid for by customer. If you require insurance, you can contact us to arrange insurance to be added to your order. note: Shipping cost will be affected by added insurance, and will be adjusted accordingly.

Shopping Cart

Items placed in the Shopping Cart are not held for you. An order is not placed until you complete the checkout process. Items only remain in the Shopping Cart for a limited time, and may be removed from the Shopping Cart as stock status changes. This will be reflected once you click “Checkout.”

Return Policy

We have a 30-day return policy, which means you have 30 days after purchasing your item to request a return.

To be eligible for a return, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, new and unused, in its original unopened packaging. You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase.

To start a return, you can contact us at info@fireflyhobbies.co.za. If your return is accepted, we’ll send you a return shipping label, as well as instructions on how and where to send your package. Items sent back to us without first requesting a return will not be accepted.

Section 1: Damages and issues

Please inspect your order upon reception and contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged or if you receive the wrong item, so that we can evaluate the issue and rectify, if required.

Section 2: Exceptions / non-returnable items

Certain types of items cannot be returned, like perishable goods, custom products and special orders. We also do not accept returns for hazardous materials, flammable liquids, or gases. Please get in touch if you have questions or concerns about your specific item.

Unfortunately, we cannot accept returns on sale items or gift cards.

Section 3: Cost of Returns

Any regular purchased items that you have requested to be returned and have been approved to be returned will carry a delivery charge payable by “you”; being the consumer.

Any items being returned as a warranty claim are subject to the conditions as laid out in the warranty policy. Please refer to section 4 under ‘Privacy Policy’. Shipping costs on such returns will be covered by us; Fire Fly Hobbies. Should the claim not be approved as a warranty claim you (the consumer) will be liable for the shipping costs.

Section 4: Warranties

Fire Fly Hobbies warrant all products to be free of defects at time of shipping. All products are subject to the manufacturer’s terms and warranties. Any defects will be sent to the official distributing agent for testing, should the test return that the product is defective, we will exchange the product, issue a store credit or refund. The manufacturer or its official distributing agent will at their sole discretion determine if the repair or replacement can be honoured under the terms of the warranty. Their decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into thereafter.

Section 5: Exchanges

The fastest way to ensure you get what you want is to return the item you have, and once the return is accepted, we will issue a store credit which can be used to make a separate purchase for a new item(s).

Section 6: Refunds

The provision of goods and services by Fire Fly Hobbies is subject to availability.  In cases of unavailability, Fire Fly Hobbies will refund the client in full within 30 days.

With regards to Returns, We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return, and let you know if the refund was approved or not. If approved, you’ll be automatically refunded on your original payment method. Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund too.
