This is a specialized handheld tool designed to create clean, precise “vent holes” in the rubber of RC vehicle tires
Venting is the process of allowing air to escape and enter the tire freely. This is critical for several performance reasons:
- Preventing “Ballooning”: High-speed rotation generates centrifugal force that stretches tires, making them tall and thin (ballooning). Venting allows air to escape, helping the tire maintain its shape and contact patch.
- Improving Traction: Vented tires “squish” better. This allows the internal foam to act as the primary damper, helping the tire conform to terrain and absorb impacts rather than bouncing like a basketball.
- Expelling Debris: When driving in wet or dusty conditions, centrifugal force flings water and dirt out through the tire holes, preventing the internal foams from becoming saturated, heavy, and unbalanced.
