The Ferrari California was presented at the Paris Motor Show, in autumn 2008. The name echoed that of the legendary spyder of the late fifties, one of the masterpieces of Ferrari production. Once again, the Maranello company made use of the collaboration of Pininfarina, who created a gritty but also elegant line. The car could be defined as a coupé / cabriolet, thanks to a sophisticated system that allowed the metal roof to be opened in just 14 seconds. The California was equipped with a 4297cc 460hp V8 at 7750 rpm. Some elements benefited from Ferrari’s experience in Formula 1, such as traction and stability control (F1-Trac) and the electronically managed differential (E-diff).
